Public Response On Tdr Free Vs Paid Effects Plugins

mimojapan5 Months ago
The free versions are stable, well though out and fairly easy to use while providing top quality results. I was satisfied with them and the "limited" functionality :-D Even though these would have been enough for my needs, I bought the GE versions anyways, 'cause the devs need to live too :-)

That Nova upgrade seems pretty sweet.

I love the free versions of TDR Nova and Kotelnikov. They are both stable, extremely useful and packed with features which have often proved more than enough. Given that I love the free versions so much, I may buy the paid ones in case of specific needs for these advanced features and when I feel I need to upgrade.

Hey Mike, I was looking for vids on side-chaining using TDR Nova and yours came up. Learned some cool things about the TDR Nova GE that I had not known before - so thanks for sharing! In regards on how to use the 'reverse compression' - it adds "Upwards Expansion" similar to that of an Expander plugin. After watching you share the SC button that allowed for granular editing, it could be used on the source channel strip to give it a bump for emphasis while ducking the other track. It'd be an interesting setup..I've not tried that before. But it's nice to know that it is an option to mess around with. source: https://youtu.be/1CHFv4mWQYM?t=552

Great comparison walkthrough Mike - the paid versions are probably beyond what I need right now but I can see they have lots of potentially useful extra features for those with more experience - and at reasonable prices too

I love all there stuff, till this day I also still use the V.O.S (variety of sound) plugs eventhough its 32. Good vid mic. I still hope you're gonna do a vid about daw controllers and thn mire about how to customizing it. Bless

Great video demonstration, Mike. TDR's free versions are fantastic in their own right, but I think the paid versions easily add sufficient value to justify buying them, particularly if you're mixing and mastering for a living. $35 for Nova Gentleman's Edition, $25 for Kotelnikov GE and $18 for SlickEQ GE are great deals for very powerful sound shaping tools.
