Public Response On Joe Dante On These Are The Damned

This movie is a hidden gem. 'Clockwork Orange', 'Village of the Damned', 'Dr. Strangelove' with a dash of 'Flowers in the Attic' all rolled into one!

Agree with everything you say. Well worth seeing!

I see you young Oliver Reed ! You know that one friend that you just know would be a incredibly bad idea to go drinking with? Oliver Reed. Top of the list. Wish I could have done it😁

It's also the best work ever done by the otherwise bland MacDonald Carey.

I've seen this film on TV a couple of times over the years, but the last time would be at least three or four decades ago. Personally, I think It's terrific,  well acted (and with a surprising number of familiar faces in there like Oliver Reed, Alexanxder Knox, Kenneth Cope, and even Walter Gotell) and with an intriguing premise, and as Joe says definitely worth a look--if you can find it!

It's available here on YouTube. Just watched it. Good film. As an art lover I liked the inclusion of sculpture by Elisabeth Frink.

A much, much better film then its trailer. Saw a perfectly clean print back in the 80s. Intense, bleak, pure science fiction.

My mom, of all people, was a big fan of this movie. For a suburban hausfrau, she had her moments. It was nice that Joseph Losey (along with Jules Dassin) was able to sustain their careers after the thuggery of the blacklist. Oliver Reed was BORN to play scum. And yes, the band The Damned DID name themselves after this film. "Black Leather, Black Leather, SMASH SMASH SMASH.....Black Leather, Black Leather, CRASH CRASH CRASH".

its available on DVD from Amazon . If you like irony , the location building is being sort as an Academy School

I totally thought this was about the band The Damned, since the guy holding the knife looked like Brian James.
