I remember after i thought i beat gundyr (he was at like a pixel of health) i put my controller DOWN and was about to celebrate and im like "OH SH*T HES STILL ALIVE!!" *picks controller back up and just barely manages to dodge out of his attack* panicking i started mashing my dodges hoping to get a good shot and sniped that kill. If i died (probably wouldve been my 20th or something idk) i wouldve thrown my controller at a wall. True story

Homeward bone is a life saver when you’ve acquired massive amounts of souls and there are enemies blocking your way back. Use it if you need to. There’s no shame in it. It’s there for a reason. And kill those stupid worshippers quickly; one of them is bound to turn into a puns of man mini-boss clusterf***. Also, bonfire resting respawns all enemies. This one should be obvious but I wasted a good half hour at the start thinking I could just recharge Estus and move on.

4:05: No, only the host needs to be embered. While for the summoned one it doesn't matter whether you're hollowed or not embered. Phantom only needs the White Sign Soapstone to be summoned.

Tip from me - fancier weapons are not always better. Do not dismiss that simple starter straight sword as something you should discard at first opportunity. Many of the starter weapons are among the best and/or most versatile - especially once upgraded. Yep, a simple longsword or mace can carry you through the entire game if you so desire - and you will not gimp yourself by relying on those. Think of those fancy weird weapons as sidegrades, not obvious upgrades. They tend to come with some disadvantages - like awkward movesets, weird scaling etc. Sometimes, basic weapons are simply best or close to best.

lmao was a tip really to read item descriptions? I thought that was like a given in any game especially rpgs

I am not a soulsborne newbie, i played through bloodborne and loved it. However, is there any items like the hunters mark that lets you go to a bonfire or go to the shrine? or do you have to just navigate back yourself?

A pro tip for me personally to people who always have problems controlling the camera. TRY TO PLAY (or at least practiced unlocked combat) seriously, it can REALLY help u with dealing against multiple enemies at once or a really large boss that just screws ur camera over. Ex: the nameless king’s first phase

If you get a Claymore +3 (6 normal titanite) , 27 strength, enough dexterity to use it (13) and a heavy gem, your Damage a hit will be around 250+ (or slightly less) with a single two handed light attack (this if an enemy hasn’t got resistance to anything that may effect damage). This makes a lot of the bosses easier and it is insanely strong in PvP. For the newer players, this makes the game much easier since the best some players might get out of their +3 weapon can be around 150-170 damage (depending on infusions and the weapon itself, also the scaling) with a light attack so give this a try. I recommend starting out as a warrior for decent HP and Strength. Look up how to get these items and you’ll have a blast! Other tips: Quip load below 70%, this prevents fat rolls. Get in a habit of hitting chests, this helps just in case one is a mimic. Check a weapons scaling, A is the best and F is the worst, if you are a strength build and you look at a weapon, if the letter below the strength symbol is A, that means the DMG is going to scale best with strength. Plan a build before you upgrade random stuff and waste your souls. A build is essentially a play style. Look up if there is anything on how to create builds. Use the Dark Souls Wiki, it is extremely useful even for the little things veterans might forget. DO NOT waste materials on random things, I know it is hard if you see a cool weapon but please, it will help in the long run. Try to build a build round a weapon you like and enjoy using. Let’s say you like big hammer that smacks enemy’s round the head and decapitates them in one hit, this means you want to level up things like strength and endurance. HP ,vitality and in most cases endurance is important for every build, especially the HP. Be patient. This game does not reward you greatly for aggression a lot unlike Bloodborne, so play it safe and make wise decisions. The tips are for EVERY souls game, have fun and if you are new, dont give up!
